Blame Game has always been part and parcel of Nigeria politics. It's amusing that while the domestic politicking of Nigerian leaders have been the major topic of discuss among the academic and non-academic pundits, little attention have been given to the roles played by Nigerian leaders on the International scene. The inability of our leaders to maximize the over contested opportunity on the international stage to Nigeria advantage has covered little space in most contemporary political history literature in Nigeria.
Over the time, politics in Nigeria have always been played at the detriment of the brainwashed and suffering masses who gain nothing, but cup of rice in the long run.
What bugles ones mind now is what could be the thoughts of our leaders towards the sudden magnanimity being extended to Nigeria by the US especially, on the issue of MMM. Is it not the same US who refused to render help to curb the menace of Bokoharam through her agency as FBI now showing vesting interest in the alleged ponzi scheme.
It seems there's more to the MMM scheme than we seeing. And this could be deduced from the fact that it could be used by the power that be to destroy a nation's economy through exchange rate that makes the local currency worthless. It could also serve as an avenue to penetrate and influence another country's economy. Hence whether we believe it or not, Putin is well aware of the scheme because it started in his country.
Though MMM is outlaw in Russia, nevertheless, it could serve as a way of spreading the resuscitating tentacles of the country.
Thus to prevent that influence, the US is trying something similar to the old policy of containment. That is, stamping out of MMM and stopping Russia from holding ground in the black most nation as she's doing in the middle East.
Contrary to the media report, frozen up of MMM is not about rest or crash of the system issue. Rather, an involvement of a super power who realizes its waning strength and thus want to use Nigeria a bait for its revival. It's all about a developed software by FBI to help Nigeria government in destroying the MMM scheme and also an intention of Russia to develop its own software to counter it.
Hence, the announcement that MMM will resume on January 14th of 2017. That's, should Russia intervene on time. Though this might not be actual fact, nevertheless, be sure it's a fact you can bank on.
On that note, I call Nigeria; an extension of the power play going on in the middle East.
In the word of a reknown schorlar - Mr Ranti Afowowe, from the prestigious Osun State University; "I fear if Russia has not return for the rematch of the cold war".
Just like America did to the Soviet Union in 1989, Russia has allegedly penetrated deeply into the America system. Sudden realization of it and the intent to fight back, especially between the two domino personalities as Putin and Trump, there's fire on the mountain. This won't be an ideological war but of military supremacy between the Tzarist Kremlin and the Babylonian Pentagon. The seemingly unending war in Syria and economic contest in Nigeria succinctly attests to this.
Russia is no more a communist state and that's the reason why this NEW COLD WAR may not be tagged an ideological war. Rather, a battle for military supremacy.
A good friend of mine - Owolabi Jamiu who reported on Japanese Foreign policy once posited; "Japan in a catastrophic mood, says never will it allow the menace of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to happen again!"
Also, another friend - Adedoyin Victor ; a Military Strategic Analyst in one of our conversations said; "Russia has learnt her lessons during the killing of her friend - Muahmmar Ghadaffi and thus you can see the intent with which Russia is vehemently fighting the US and the rebels cum ISIS in Syria". A new dimension of Cold War.
However, on relations issue, Nigeria must be cautious in entering any trade deal that might wade off the entire corns from the silo otherwise, mother of revolution that will occur as a result of economic insecurity which is being felt through the ongoing recession.
This is not a prophecy of doom, but rather an analytical issue that call for cabinet rethinking. Kemi Adeosun seems not to have the technical know how to handle Nigeria economy. The economic committee under the office of the Vice -president lack the in depth foresight to turn things around on time.
Though I'm not accusing or apportioning the blame on the FG, nevertheless, the government is not doing the needy to better the lot of Nigerians. Had the government playing its roles by putting smile on the faces of Nigerians, people wouldn't have been craving to source for their livelihoods via MMM scheme. Unlike the Nigeria government, MMM have touched the lives of many Nigerians positively in the last one year of its existence than did, the Nigeria government with her often failing policies since 1960.
If I were the Federal Government, I will allow the scheme to thrive for a limited period while fixing all the loopholes in our sluggish economic policies that have put majority of the populace at disadvantage. MMM is diverting people's attention from government failing plans. Hence, the FG should have exploit the opportunity to ameliorate things while people look the other way.
On a final note, intuitively one may be of the opinion that the sudden frozen up of MMM users account might be the handiwork of the Federal Government who might have received some intelligence gathering concerning the scheme that it's a tool by the Russian government through Sergey to influence Nigeria economy and to penetrate, to her own advantage, the Nigerian economy thereafter.
